About me and yoga

My name is Britt Bolland, born in Amsterdam. Next to my full-time corporate job, I have recently started teaching yoga.
In September this year I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, where I further developed my love for yoga. What has always struck me is how different I feel lying on the mat after practice in savasana. It's a powerful shift, both physically and mentally, where the effort of practice dissolves into a space of clarity and calm.
Beyond the physical practice, the asana, the philosophy of yoga truly resonated with me during my training. In yoga philosophy, much of our “suffering” comes from avidya, meaning ignorance. Through yoga, we become less ignorant. We have the opportunity to pause, reflect, and shift away from unconscious biases or automatic reactions, allowing us to make more mindful choices or to recondition those patterns that may be harmful. Much like conditioning, in psychology.
Yoga for me is about self-awareness and growth. It’s not just about what we do on the mat but how we show up in our everyday lives—with compassion, honesty, kindness, and awareness in our interactions with others and ourselves.
I am excited to keep learning and am passionate about sharing this journey with others, helping them discover their own potential through yoga. Whether guiding them on the mat or through thoughtful conversations, I hope to share the positive impact yoga can have, both physically and mentally.
